Becoming a member of Summerseat Players will enable you to be covered by our insurance when on the premises, but it also means that, as an ‘active member’ you get to hear about the latest events, updates, as well as any play announcements, readings and castings, usually ahead of the general public.
Being a member for a minimum of 3 consecutive years also entitles you to vote at our AGM and once you have been a member for 25 years, you will be endowed with our coveted ‘Silver Pin’ and you then have free lifetime membership! (You get a gold pin at 50 years membership!)
Finally, your membership helps to contribute to the ongoing growth, development and upkeep of our wonderful theatre.
The current annual membership is just £10 per person. We ask that memberships are paid by 30th November annually.
Membership Terms & Conditions:
Conditions of Membership
Membership payment is due by 30th November annually. Please note that it is a requirement of the Theatre’s constitution that the appropriate fee is paid by this date in order for you to remain a member of the Theatre.
Please note: It is a condition of Membership that, if you are offered an Acting role, you agree to help out in another part of the Theatre at least once during the rest of the season.
N.B. Membership (where not paid annually) is payable immediately on joining or assisting with a production in any capacity. This is in order to comply with the requirements of our Insurers.
Members with paid subscriptions for the last 3 years are entitled to vote at the AGM or any other meeting that the Council sees appropriate to call.
Membership fees for Choir & Youth Group members are taken via the subscriptions to those groups.
From time to time, you may be photographed for Theatre activities and these images may be placed on the Theatre’s website, Facebook pages and other social media, as well as used for the purpose of marketing and historical records. By giving your consent, you confirm that you understand the purpose of using such images and you consent to being photographed.
We ask that you give your consent for a trained First Aider to administer first aid to you in the event of an accident. We also ask that you give permission for a Paramedic to treat you should this be deemed necessary and appropriate. It is your responsibility to notify the Theatre of any acute health conditions for which we may need to make a reasonable adjustment.
Health & Safety & GDPR
It is part of our Covid-19 Risk Assessment that Summerseat Players strongly encourages and expects all Theatre personnel to have taken all necessary measures to protect themselves and their colleagues against the virus, which includes being vaccinated and committing to regular LFD testing / PCR testing. On entry to the Theatre (i.e. for volunteering, bar duties, rehearsals or any other business) we ask that you please declare your vaccine status (i.e. number received).
We ask that, where you have committed to a role or to helping out in any capacity at the Theatre, you ensure all reasonable commitment and you agree that you will notify the relevant person as soon as possible should you not be able to maintain your commitment.
It is your responsibility to get to and from the Theatre – whilst we support car sharing, we kindly ask that you do not expect your fellow cast and/or crew members to provide a taxi service!
