DNA

DNA

bullying │ lies │ deception

A group of teenagers do a bad thing.  A really bad thing.  Then they panic and try to cover the whole thing up, framing an innocent person in the process.

But when they find that their cover-up actually works, and in fact manages to unite the group, and bring peace and harmony to their once fractious lives, where is the incentive to put right their wrongdoing?

Dennis Kelly’s modern play for young people calls society’s response to cruelty, bullying, peer pressure and pack mentality into question.  Are these behaviours societal and learned, or are they inherent in us ALL?

DNA was developed as a part of National Theatre’s Connections Scheme, which commissions playwrights to write plays for young performers aged fourteen to eighteen and Summerseat Players are proud to have stayed true to the original scheme, with the many of the actors and crew coming from our own popular and successful Youth Group.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A STUDIO PRODUCTION - Saturday 23 April 2022 to Saturday 30 April 2022 (no performance on Sunday 24).
