The Summerseat Players Choir is officially known as The Square Street Singers.

The choir is based at the Theatre Royal and rehearses upstairs in the studio on Friday evenings from 8pm to 10pm.

The choir is jointly led by Peter Larkin and Carolyn Baines. Pam Larkin is the principal accompanist.  The choir is fortunate to have Beth Archibald as stand in  accompanist when Pam is not available.

The Square Street singers have built a good reputation over the years and continue to flourish. The ethos of the choir is to enjoy singing while at the same time striving to achieve and maintain a high standard of performance. The choir’s repertoire is extensive and ecclectic and includes pieces from Abba to Elgar.

If you would like the choir to perform at your event please email Peter Larkin at

The choir is busy rehearsing for the Christmas season with new music and several concerts booked. We will be entertaining visitors to the Greenmount Christmas Cracker on Saturday 30th November with carols and festive songs. The main event is our own Christmas Concert at the Theatre Royal On Saturday 7th December with the Goodshaw Band and guest soprano Louise Rogan. We are also privileged to sing at Bury Mayor’s Charity Concert on Friday 13th December at Walshaw Sports Club where we will feature Holcombe Alphorn Duo. Check this space for updates.
