Postponed – 1984 & Corpse!

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM OUR CHAIRMAN

Our Theatre, like any business and place of entertainment, has a duty of care to all of our valued members and audience members, as well as to our cherished volunteers.   On 29 January, we unfortunately had to cancel the final performance of The Games Afoot, following a partial collapse of the ceiling in the auditorium earlier that day.  Upon later considering the contents of the report subsequently received from the Insurers Surveyors, we sadly had to inform you that we had to make the difficult decision to temporarily suspend our production of ‘1984’.  Due to the amount of work required, along with the availability of both materials and contractors, we have also had to indefinitely postpone our production of ‘Corpse!‘.  We sincerely hope to reschedule both plays for a future season.

We are sure you will appreciate that we are bitterly disappointed, but the safety of our audiences, cast, crew and volunteers is paramount, and so we trust that you will understand the reasons why had to come to these very difficult decisions.  However, the rest of our building remains safe, and so we were extremely pleased that our Studio production of the fully SOLD OUT and critically acclaimed DNS was able to go ahead.  Click here for more details about DNA.

We will announce details of our next season soon, but in the meantime, thank you for your patience and understanding.

Geoff Sword, Chairman
