Blackbird

Blackbird – By David Harrower

Directed by Rebecca Carney

Blackbird is a gripping, intense drama that explores the complexities of memory, trauma, and forgiveness.  When Una, a young woman, confronts Ray, the man from her past with whom she had a controversial and damaging relationship, decades of buried pain and conflicting emotions come to the surface, and they are both forced to relive the past and face the emotional wreckage left behind.

Set in a single room, this powerful two-hander is a raw and unflinching examination of the human capacity for both cruelty and compassion.  David Harrower’s writing is an acute and powerful observation, delivering emotional depth with every word, and challenging audiences to confront difficult questions about accountability, ethics and the scars left behind.

Blackbird is a daring, taut  and deeply provocative piece of theatre that stays with you long after the final scene, making it a must-see for anyone interested in powerful storytelling and complex characters.

Join us for a haunting, unforgettable night at the theatre – where every moment counts and silence speaks volumes.
